Hydration, sleep timing, and light exposure do most of the real work. Here's how it fits together.

Frequent flyers know the drill: you land feeling like a different time zone entirely. Jet lag is a real, well-studied disruption to your body's internal clock — and there's more you can do about it than just powering through.
What the evidence supports
Airplane cabins have very low humidity, and dehydration on its own worsens fatigue, headaches, and that generally foggy feeling that gets blamed entirely on jet lag.
Your circadian rhythm responds most strongly to light. Getting outside in daylight at your destination, and avoiding light at the ‘wrong’ local time, is one of the most effective jet lag tools the research supports.
An IV drip before or after a flight can help address travel dehydration and give you a head start on feeling normal — but it works alongside sleep and light strategy, not instead of it.
The bottom line
If you travel often for work or pleasure, pairing good sleep-and-light habits with a pre- or post-flight hydration session is a reasonable way to feel more like yourself when you land.
