Lifestyle Hydration Drip

Post Viral Recovery Drip

For the flat stretch after the illness has passed

Post Viral Recovery Drip at The DRIPBaR Frisco

The illness is over but you are still running at seventy percent. Post Viral is built around the B vitamins and nutrients your body draws on while it restores normal cellular function — plus the fluid you probably did not replace while you were unwell.

At a glance

What this session offers

A plain description of what is in the bag and what happens while you are here.

The full B-complex

B vitamins are cofactors in the energy-yielding metabolism of carbohydrate, fat and protein, and in red blood cell formation.

Glutamine for cellular fuel

Glutamine is the primary fuel for intestinal cells and a key substrate for rapidly dividing immune cells; plasma levels fall during catabolic stress.

Catch-up hydration

Fever, poor intake, vomiting or diarrhoea leave most people meaningfully behind on fluid.

Magnesium and neuromuscular function

Low magnesium is associated with fatigue and muscle cramping, both common in the recovery window.

The science

What the research actually shows

We would rather tell you where the evidence is strong, where it is thin, and where it simply does not exist yet.

Where the evidence is strongest and weakest

A systematic review has explored IV vitamin C for fatigue including post-viral fatigue, but the trials are small, heterogeneous or uncontrolled. The evidence is preliminary. We present this as nutrient and fluid support during recovery, not as a treatment for post-viral syndromes.

Glutamine in context

The strongest glutamine data come from critical illness and specific clinical contexts. Trials in athletes and general populations have not consistently shown immune or performance benefit.

B12 and testing

A 2021 meta-analysis of 16 randomised trials in 6,276 participants found B12 supplementation was likely ineffective for cognition and depressive symptoms in people without deficiency. Benefit is expected where genuine deficiency exists — an argument for testing.

When to see a physician instead

Persistent shortness of breath, chest pain, ongoing fever or symptoms that are worsening rather than slowly improving need medical evaluation.

Who commonly considers this: Adults in the recovery window after a viral illness who feel run down and want hydration and nutrient support while they rebuild.

Safety, screening & contraindications

  • No IV drip treats a viral infection. Ongoing fever, breathlessness or chest pain warrants medical evaluation.
  • Magnesium caution in renal impairment.
  • Vitamin C caution with G6PD deficiency, oxalate stones and iron overload.
  • Glutamine should be avoided in hepatic encephalopathy and discussed with your oncologist during active cancer treatment.
