The science
John Myers, MD, a Baltimore physician, gave IV combinations of magnesium, calcium, B vitamins and vitamin C from the 1960s onward. After his death Alan Gaby, MD, refined and published the modern protocol and coined the name.
IV delivery bypasses the intestinal absorption ceiling. Oral vitamin C plasma levels plateau near 220 micromol/L; intravenous administration reaches substantially higher concentrations.
