The science
We would rather tell you where the evidence is strong, where it is thin, and where it simply does not exist yet.
Choline is genuinely essential for moving lipids out of the liver, and inadequate choline causes hepatic fat accumulation. That is the documented mechanism behind the term. Choline also serves as a backup methyl donor when folate is low.
Preventing pathological fat accumulation in the liver is not the same thing as reducing body fat. NIH ODS documents no evidence that choline supplementation causes weight loss or fat reduction.
Published evidence for MIC or lipotropic injections as a weight-loss intervention is very limited — small, often uncontrolled studies, no large randomised trials, and no FDA-approved lipotropic injection product for weight loss. Most material available on MIC injections is clinic marketing rather than peer-reviewed research.
Any weight change observed alongside these shots is most plausibly attributable to the accompanying calorie deficit, coaching and behaviour change. We think that is the fair way to present it, and it is why we recommend this as an adjunct to a real plan.
