Lifestyle Hydration Drip

Glutathione Drip

The body's master antioxidant, delivered intravenously

$19930 minutesFrisco, TX
Glutathione Drip at The DRIPBaR Frisco

Glutathione is the body's principal intracellular antioxidant. It is one of our most requested drips, and also one where we think you deserve a clear-eyed summary of the evidence before you book.

Featured ingredients

Ask our nurse about adding extra Vitamin C as an IV push alongside this infusion.

At a glance

What this session offers

A plain description of what is in the bag and what happens while you are here.

The body's master antioxidant

Glutathione is central to neutralising reactive oxygen species and to phase II conjugation reactions in the liver.

A short, simple session

Thirty minutes, single-agent, well tolerated by most guests.

Pairs with Vitamin C

Many guests add an IV vitamin C push, and the two work in related antioxidant pathways.

Administered by licensed clinical staff

In a clinical setting with sterile technique — which, as the research below explains, genuinely matters here.

The science

What the research actually shows

We would rather tell you where the evidence is strong, where it is thin, and where it simply does not exist yet.

What glutathione does biologically

GSH is the principal intracellular thiol antioxidant, central to neutralising reactive oxygen species, recycling other antioxidants, and phase II detoxification and conjugation reactions.

The proposed pigment mechanism

Glutathione inhibits tyrosinase, the rate-limiting enzyme of melanin synthesis, partly by binding copper at its active site, and shifts melanin production from darker eumelanin toward lighter pheomelanin. It also downregulates MITF.

Where the evidence actually lands — read this part

A systematic review in IJDVL found randomised controlled trials supporting oral and topical glutathione for skin lightening, but concluded that for the intravenous route specifically 'there is no evidence to prove its efficacy.' A 2025 narrative review reported IV results of 37.5% self-reported lightening versus 18.7% for placebo, with effects fading within six months. We are not going to promise you a skin-tone outcome.

Regulatory context you should know

There are no FDA-approved injectable skin-lightening products, and the FDA has published a consumer update warning that injectable skin lightening and bleaching products may be unsafe. Several national regulators have issued similar advisories. This is a strong argument for licensed clinical administration and against buying anything of this kind online.

General antioxidant claims are also unproven

In Parkinson's disease, the one 1996 trial was uncontrolled and a 2009 randomised trial of 20 patients showed safety and possible benefit only, with the placebo group also improving. Adequately powered trials have not been done.

Who commonly considers this: Adults interested in general antioxidant support or skin-tone appearance who want to understand what the evidence does and does not show before proceeding.

Safety, screening & contraindications

  • Cosmetic use of IV glutathione is off-label and is not FDA-approved for that purpose. We will tell you this at your consult too.
  • Reported adverse effects include hypersensitivity and anaphylaxis, and liver dysfunction. Severe cutaneous reactions have been described in case literature.
  • Asthma is a caution for thiol compounds.
  • Sterile technique and licensed medical supervision are essential — infusion-related sepsis and air embolism have been reported with improper administration elsewhere.
